Lauren McAdam

I have worked in the health and social care sector for over 20 years, having started as a kitchen assistant in a nursing home. Over the years I realised my vocation for care work, and I worked my way from being a care assistant up to manager, after completing my level 5. Following on from there, I worked as a skills coach, assessing learners from NVQ levels 2 to 5. Although I enjoyed this, I missed working with service users directly, and until I moved to Dorset, I worked for a hospital social work team, completing care act and mental capacity assessments to facilitate safe hospital discharges.

I feel that my experience gives me an insight into provider needs and understanding of hospital discharges, and the role of Trusted Assessor allows me to utilise those skills in an industry I am passionate about.
